Citicore to supply 20-MW solar power to Shell Energy

RENEWABLE energy (RE) firm Citicore Power, Inc. said over the weekend that it will be supplying up to 20 megawatts (MW) of solar power to Shell Energy Philippines, Inc. through its Bataan-based facility.
Shell Energy is a retail electricity supplier under the Shell Group.
“Citicore Solar Bataan, Inc. (CSBI) will supply Shell [Energy] with RE through its solar plant located in Mariveles, Bataan,” Citicore Power said in a press release issued on Saturday.
CSBI is one of the company’s eight solar facilities across the country with a total capacity of 163 MW.

Three retail electricity suppliers (RES) under Aboitiz Power Corporation and one under Citicore Power, Inc. were added to the Department of Energy’s (DOE) list of participants under its Green Energy Option Program (GEOP).
AboitizPower RES firms now included in the list are Aboitiz Energy Solutions, Inc., which caters to corporate clients, and AdventEnergy, Inc., which serves end-users within economic zones specifically using renewable energy.
Also in the GEOP list is Prism Energy, Inc., a joint venture 60% owned by Aboitiz and 40% owned by Vivant Corporation catering to contestable customers in Cebu. AboitizPower and Vivant also jointly own the Visayan Electric Company, the country’s second-largest power distributor, which serves most areas in Metro Cebu.

Citicore Power earmarks P4-B for solar, hydro projects

RENEWABLE energy firm Citicore Power, Inc. has allocated P4 billion in capital expenditures (capex) for solar and hydro projects, as the firm plans to list a power portfolio in the local bourse this year, the firm’s top official said.
“A total of 4 billion (pesos) for 2021. This is the capex plan…Around 2.5 (billion pesos) for solar projects. And then for the hydro, this will be built across three years, so the capex for the hydro is around 1.5 (billion pesos),” Citicore Power President Oliver Y. Tan told
