More restrictions may be lifted at Notre Dame as students receive 2nd COVID vaccine this week

SOUTH BEND — Notre Dame plans to lift more restrictions in May if 90% of students become fully vaccinated for COVID-19. In a letter to students Wednesday, President Rev. John Jenkins said the university will drop its weekly surveillance testing beginning May 10 among those who are fully vaccinated if enough students receive one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine or two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. The university also will not require exit testing at the end of the semester for those who are vaccinated and will add $15 in flex points to students’ Irish1Card for campus dining if enough students comply with the request.
