Everyone attending had to wear a mask. High school graduation season is back and in addition to caps, gowns and family pictures, ceremonies in Alabama appear set to return to stadiums and auditoriums. “Everybody is going back to as normal as they possibly can,” Dr. Vic Wilson told AL.com. Wilson leads the state’s professional organization of principals and administrators, the Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools.

Zachary Barnes announced as school system’s director of operations Zachary Barnes will be the system’s director of operations. Homewood City Schools announced Zachary Barnes as the district’s director of operations. Barnes has 23 years of experience in education and has served as principal of Homewood High School for nine years. “Leading a high school through a pandemic year comes with many challenges and obstacles,” Homewood Superintendent Justin Hefner said. “Dr. Barnes has helped Homewood High to continue the excellence our community deserves and expects this year through teaching and learning virtually and in the classroom.” For the past two years, Barnes helped guide Homewood High through a major construction and renovation project and was able to do so successfully while maintaining the priority of teaching and learning.

Dr. Monte Linebarger Honored as Black History Maker of Alabama     92.9 WTUG, Praise 93.3, and 105.1 The Block in partnership with the Delta Phi Lambda chapter of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., the Eta Xi Omega chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., along with Robinson Automotive, and Dixie Motors in Northport, we are proud to salute Dr. Monte Linebarger as a Black History Maker of Alabama. Dr. Monte Linebarger is more commonly known as the “The Champion Principal”.   He has 20 years of educational experience.  Monte has served as a teacher and coach on the middle school and high school levels.  His educational experience includes Teacher, Assistant Principal, Elementary Principal, and the Elementary Director of Instruction.
