Three Twigs Bakery opening new location on Springfield's west side

Three Twigs Bakery has found a new home on Springfield’s west side but its departure won’t be leaving a vacancy on Toronto Road. Owner Emily Lewis confirmed a contract has been signed to move the business to 3429 Freedom Drive, the former Pie’s the Limit site in Parkway Pointe. The bakery’s last day at 1370 Toronto Road is March 14. However, fans still will be able to purchase the bakery’s scratch-made pastries from the address. Brandon and Cana Austin are taking over the Toronto Road location, which will be home to Grateful Coffee Co. An early April opening is expected. The first-time business owners say the initial menu will serve a wide variety of hot and iced coffee drinks, sandwiches made with Three Twigs breads and Three Twigs pastries.

Buzz Bomb Brewing Co. creates collaborations to get to know neighbors

And what better way to get to know someone than over an adult beverage? “Times are tough, especially for small businesses,” co-owner/head brewer Bill Larson said of the brewery’s latest flavors created with fellow downtown business operations. “We’d done collaborations with other breweries: Anvil & Forge, Hand of Fate. But never other types of businesses. “It started as an Adams family kind of thing and has grown. If this helps cross-pollinate businesses, great. And it’s fun.” The brewery at 406 E. Adams St. kicked off the effort with the unveiling of “Follow the Reverie” last month. The stout brewed with chocolate and Guatemalan coffee roasted by Custom Cup Coffee, (321 E. Monroe St.) was a flavor profile created in partnership with Reverie Apparel at 407 E. Adams St.
