Over the past year the Town of Lockport Historical Society has revised its status with New York State and is now a chartered historical society and a not-for-profit (501c3) organization.
GORHAM â Dianne Doherty of Jewell Street was the first person to report sighting a Roseate Spoonbill to N.H. Audubon on Friday evening, July 30. She and her husband, Maurice, observe a lot of wildlife in the expansive public works yard on the Androscoggin River.
The next morning, she was able to forward a video to the statewide nonprofit organization that left no doubt in anyoneâs mind that she had made the correct identification that added another species to the list of birds sighted in the Granite State.

SPRINGFIELD Even though Tim Brennan would have wanted to step back from the spotlight, colleagues from the Pioneer Valley Planning Commission and Economic Development Council of Western Massachusetts have created an award honoring of the man they remember as the “face and voice for the region.”
And the organizations are seeking nominees from among the Pioneer Valley’s nonprofit organizations that mirror Brennan’s dedication to community while adapting to changing economic and cultural landscapes.
Nonprofits may be nominated or self-nominate through May 14 at tinyurl.com/brennanaward. The Planning Commission will announce the recipient of the inaugural Tim Brennan Exemplar Award at its annual meeting in June.
