The bail application of University of Fort Hare investigations and vetting director Isaac Plaatjies, 56, was dismissed by the Dimbaza magistrate’s court on Monday.
It was the second round of rapid gameplay between Siphamandla Mkoko, 25, and Zimi Totose, 17, at the Buffalo City Chess Championships on Sunday. The 14 top-ranking entrants were invited to play over the two-weekend event, culminating in the tiebreak playoff between Mkoko and Totose.
