Disney Plus Officially Launches Its Star Network In Select Overseas Markets

In December during the Disney Investor Meeting one of the biggest announcement was the launch of the Star Brand on Disney Plus. Focusing on gaining more subscribers in the upcoming years Disney had pivoted its initial plan for Disney Plus and was now focusing on getting more content on the streaming service. With the acquisition of 21st Century Foxand all of its content this allowed Disney to rethink it’s plan moving forward with the streaming network.
For the United States it was simple to just add all the Fox and mature content to Huluand bundle both streaming services together. For international purposes that was not as easy. One of the big acquisitions Disneyhad taken over the past year was the Starstreaming services that originally started in India but was expanding across Asia. It was announced during the Investor Meeting that Disney would merge the two services into one for its international market. On top of adding more content to Disney Plus there will now be a rating for content and parental controls to manage content seen in the homes.
