Credit Marty Sohl/Metropolitan Opera The 2020-21 Metropolitan Opera Radio Broadcast season continues with a family favorite for the holiday season, Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel, sung in English.   This encore broadcast from 2018 stars soprano Lisette Oropesa as Gretel and mezzo-soprano Tara Erraught as Hansel, the hungry siblings who must use their wits to survive.   Tenor Gerhard Siegel is the Witch with an unusual flair for cooking. And mezzo-soprano Dolora Zajick and baritone Quinn Kelsey are the children’s parents. Donald Runnicles conducted the Met Orchestra and Children’s Chorus.   Hansel and Gretel will be heard over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network at 1:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, December 19.
