The Donegal senior ladies will learn their opponents this evening for the All Ireland Football Championship.
Maxi Curran s side are one of thirteen teams in the hat for the senior draw.
Armagh, Cork, Dublin and Galway, the four semi finalists from last year, will be seeded for the draw which will see four groups drawn.
Tyrone are also in the senior championship along with Cavan, Kerry, Mayo, Meath, Monaghan, Tipperary and Waterford.
The All Ireland series is due to start on the weekend of July 10th/11th with the top two in each group going into quarter finals.
The draw will start around 8pm.
The Gaelic Players Association has welcomed the announcement of an increase in funding for female inter-county players.
Under the current model, 12-hundred-euro is received by male players while female players get just four-hundred-euro.
Minister oF State for Sport Jack Chambers today announced funding of 12-hundred-euro for both female and male players.
That would represent a 1.7 million euro increase from the previous figure of 7-hundred-thousand.
The LGFA have adopted a split season, with the Championship following the National League campaigns.
The All Ireland finals are scheduled for Sunday, September 5th.
The draws for the Championships will be made soon – with the 2020 semi-finalists seeded, as they were for last year’s championship.
Counties can commence their club championships when they are knocked out of the All-Ireland series,
The provincial championships will not form part of the All-Ireland inter-county series for 2021 but they can be run later in the year, if provinces see an opportunity to do so.
The Donegal Ladies return to action on the 23rd May when they start their National League campaign against Westmeath.
