Demonstrators rally across Portland on anniversary of Breonna Taylor shooting Updated Mar 14, 2021; Facebook Share Demonstrators rallied throughout Portland Saturday on the anniversary of the death of Breonna Taylor, who was shot and killed by police serving a no-knock warrant in Louisville, Kentucky. About 100 people gathered under the Burnside Bridge adjacent to the span’s eponymous skate park Saturday evening. After a half hour of speeches, the crowd, led by a pair of vehicles providing a makeshift motorcade, led protesters onto the bridge where people lit about two dozen paper lanterns and released them in Taylor’s memory. The group blocked both ramps of the bridge, stopping about halfway to light and release the lanterns.
