HARDWORKING students at Kidderminster’s Baxter College have received their awards for success and effort during the last covid-hit school year. Lockdown forced the cancellation of the annual Celebration of Achievement but now the 2019-2020 awards have been announced on the school’s website. Principal Matthew Carpenter said: “Well done to all our students and their fantastic achievements. We all understand the challenges of the last 12 months, but I have every confidence this generation of young people will go on to become resilient and able to cope with change, and more appreciative of things we have always taken for granted.

The husband-wife duo opened Little Em s, a feast for the eyes and for oyster lovers, in December on South Alamo. The couple transformed the intimate space, which went from a filling station to the original Friendly Spot to storage for Madhatters, into a restaurant that s as delicate and sophisticated as the oysters on the menu. The posh pop of pastel in the trendy district quickly caught eyes and Instagram lenses making Little Em s a speedy Southtown success. Emily Carpenter told MySA in January that her restaurant had been blessed with full reservation books.
