In the previous session on Wednesday, the 30-share index the 30-share index settled 286.35 points or 0.77 per cent lower at 36,690.50. The Nifty also fell 92.75 points or 0.85 per cent to 10,855.50.
The BSE Sensex was trading 33.29 points or 0.09 per cent higher at 38,618.64 but ended on a higher note by settling 22 points higher at 38,607.01. The gauge had ended 353.87 points, or 0.91 per cent, lower to close at 38,585.35 in its previous session.
Benchmark indices opened on a positive note on Wednesday on sustained foreign fund inflow ahead of March derivatives expiry. The 30-share Sensex was trading 80.70 points, or 0.21 per cent, higher at 38,444.17 in the early session but ended just 23.28 points at 38,386.75. The gauge had gained nearly 1,500 points in the previous seven sessions.
