Monroe Lake hosting annual First Day Trail Run and Walk

Monroe Lake will once again kick off the new year with its First Day Trail Run and Walk at Fairfax State Recreation Area (SRA), 9800 S. Fairfax Road, Bloomington.

New trails at Fairfax State Rec Area add to overlooks at Lake Monroe

The new trails will be used during the Jan. 1 First Day Trail Run that offers 3 noncompetitive distances.

First Day hikes and runs happening throughout Indiana on Jan. 1

Trail run and hike begin at 3:30 p.m. at Fairfax rec area at Lake Monroe. Other hikes happening at Brown County, McCormick s Creek, Spring Mill state parks.
