justjoining us here on bbc news, a very significant day here in the uk. in london, in westminster come in the heart of government, the deputy prime minister announcing his resignation after an investigation into allegations of bullying. we have not seen that report. the investigation itself, we still haven t seen. we have a glimpse about what it s found through the resignation letter of dominic raab. in that letter he said he felt duty bound to resign but then went on very quickly to say that he disagreed with the findings, effectively saying part of the investigation was flawed. that was the word to use, flawed. it is a resignation letter that certainly, whatever is and whatever your views, will not draw a line under this issue. it fires off a number of
in a way that undermines or humiliates , persistently aggressive , insulting , abrasive but not abusive the words used by senior employment lawyer adam tolley kc to describe some of dominic raab s conduct towards civil servants when he was foreign secretary and justice secretary. he dismissed the majority of complaints made against mr raab and said he d never shouted or sworn at colleagues. mr raab resigned at 9:50am this morning before mr sunak released the report into him. the then former deputy pm immediately launched a stinging attack on the investigation, calling the tolley findings flawed , warning in his resignation letter that this inquiry s threshold for bullying was so low that it set a dangerous precedent . mr raab s done a couple of interviews today and we ve had no word from the prime minister apart from his letter thanking his friend and ally for what he did in government. nick s here.
