A GREEN space beside what was once the largest woollen mill in the South West has been saved for the community in Wellington. Fox's Field has been bought by Somerset West and Taunton Council adjacent to Tonedale Mill following its designation as an Asset of Community Value. The site is seen as vital for the setting of the Grade II* listed mill complex, which the council is also acting to protect. The authority has been working alongside Wellington Mills Community Interest Company and Transition Town Wellington to protect the field as an open, green space for the whole community. Public consultation for the site will begin shortly by the the two groups supported by SWT in an attempt to draw up a formal agreement between the parties for the future of the field.
