Clash of Real Madrid and Liverpool reminds Des Kennedy of the days when he lived his dream
‘I happened to be the fella who was in the right place at the right time.’ Paul Dollery By Paul Dollery Sunday 4 Apr 2021, 7:00 AM 1 hour ago 575 Views 1 Comment
AT THE TIME, people described them as moments he’d tell his grandchildren about.
When they’re old enough to understand the significance, Des Kennedy intends to do just that.
Being a relative of a man revered as sporting royalty in Limerick has already demonstrated its value to his niece.
Kennedy chuckles along as he delivers the anecdote.

REXBURG — An exhibition at the Art Museum of Eastern Idaho in Idaho Falls features the work of Rexburg residents Gerald Griffin and Matthew Geddes.
Titled “A Silent Conversation,” this exhibition displays 60 oil paintings by Griffin and 30 sculptures by Geddes. The exhibition examines the way elements like texture, color and form converse together to create a work of art and shape its meaning.
“Most of the viewing public I think views artwork in terms of subject matter,” Griffin told EastIdahoNews.com. “But most artists look at artwork from a formal sense and basically what that means is the relationship between colors and textures and shapes and composition; kind of the building blocks of art. The way that these things connect, and we hope people will sense this when they view the exhibit, is that we’re playing with those elements.”

They are protesting the inhumane conditions of the prison, as well as in all prisons across the state of Alabama.
On the morning of Jan. 4, a prisoner participating in the #Alabama11 hunger strike was beaten and bloodied by a guard for his participation in the hunger strike. The prisoner’s name is Ronnie Miller, #244648. He is out of the infirmary, but photos show him with a busted lip and large lumps on his head and cheek. Miller has been subjected to several beatings by guards at Kilby Correctional Facility.

Through the tears and pain of mourning the death of his fiancée, Jane Valentine, Gerald Griffin of Gainesville set his mind on a mission and wrote.
Griffin said he released the suspense novel, “The Gods of Winter,” in 2017 as a literary odyssey to keep the memory of Valentine alive. The book intertwined factual aspects of his life with fiction and followed the character Bob Daniels, who the author said was based on himself. When he finished the novel, Griffin said he felt motivated to write a sequel to carry his late fiancée’s legacy even further.
