this unique large air tanker used to put out fires was pulled from canyon city to help crews in black forest. authorities say at this point, more than 90 homes have been destroyed by the black forest fire. they expect that number to go up. that s because they say the fire keeps shifting, even doubling back, engulfing homes once thought were safe. john, diana. john, thank you. now, that massive storm system threatening one in five americans bringing wild weather to the northeast today. as many as 17 twisters have swooped down across the midwest including that one that left behind damage in northern central iowa. it struck a restaurant and another business. there were no reports of injuries. the storms kicked up 80-mile-an-hour winds in illinois, forcing chicago s o hare airport to cancel nearly 400 flights overnight. many passengers had to suffer through long delays. 34,000 people lost power in chicago. the white sox game was canceled. the storm could mess up the morning commute a
hollywood, florida, have been told to boil their water, e.coli turned up in a municipal well there. every airplane leaving the airport must stock up on freshwater just in case water fountains are off-limits until the germ is gone. first it was sugary drinks. now new york s mayor is stirring up controversy with a brand-new ban. mayor bloomberg has proposed a ban on styrofoam. he wants vendors to switch to paper containers and cups instead. styrofoam is not environmentally friendly. small business owners are complaining that paper will cost twice as much. by creating the ban it will obligate us to raise the price on our food, which in return could mean disaster. the city council is expected to vote on the styrofoam ban later this year. this truly is one of those stories where you look and you say, how much more are you going to ban on us? yes, exactly. kind of like you wonder where is the line drawn between having the right to do something and
