AMARAVATI: Expressing anguish over the student murder incident in Narasaraopet, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced Rs 10 lakh ex-gratia to family of the deceased and assured that stern action will be taken against those responsible.
The Chief Minister directed the officials to expedite the investigation and ensure strict action against the culprit under Disha Act and stated that the Government shall stand by the family in these hard times.
A second year degree student of a private college in Narasaraopet was strangled to death and her body was thrown into a canal by the accused who was her classmate.

33,799 health workers registered for immunisation
The administration of the COVID vaccine in the district will begin on Saturday at 11 centres.
The vaccine will be administrated to health workers in the first phase. So far 33,799 health workers, including those in private hospitals, have registered for vaccination.
The vaccination centres in the district are: Government Medical College, Kozhikode, General Hospital at beach, Ayurveda hospital, ESI Hospital in Feroke, taluk hospitals in Perambra, Nadapuram and Koyilandy, family health centre at Panangad, community health centres in Narikkuni and Mukkam and Aster MIMS Hospital at Govindapuram.

People of the Lime City, Piduguralla, finally set to get potable water at their houses as decade-old dream of getting piped water supply to households has been realised. A drinking water project of supplying potable water drawn from Govindapuram to 16,800 households is being launched by Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development Botcha Satyanarayana on Saturday.
Kasu Mahesh Reddy, MLA of Gurazala and grandson of former Chief Minister Kasu Brahmananda Reddy, said the dream to get a piped water for Piduguralla has remained unfulfilled for long.
