Slow-downs coming on Oshawa streets

Speed reductions are coming to a couple of streets across the city.
Council recently approved a speed reduction to 40 km/h from 50 km/h on a portion of Grand Ridge Avenue.
According to a city report, Grand Ridge Avenue is a dead-end street, which runs west from Harmony Road North for about 500 metres. The first 120 metres is posted at 50 km/h before reducing down to 40 km/h approaching St. Joseph Catholic School and Grand Ridge Park.
Online seller stabbed in Oshawa

Two teens are facing charges after a robbery during the sale of an expensive jacket.
Durham police were called to a street level robbery near Grandview Street North and Conlin Road East in Oshawa on Dec. 14, around 3:30 p.m.
The victim had met the suspects to sell a “Moose Knuckles” jacket. The victim used an online platform to sell his jacket.
The suspects met the victim near a residential area and when one of the suspects tried on the jacket, the other stabbed the victim and they both fled with the jacket.
Last Updated Tuesday, December 15, 2020 1:33PM EST A victim is recovering in hospital after he was allegedly stabbed by two youths over the sale of a Moose Knuckles coat in Oshawa on Monday afternoon. Durham Regional Police say that at about 3:30 p.m. Monday, they were called to Grandview Street North and Conlin Road East in Oshawa for a report of a robbery. The victim had placed an ad for the sale of Moose Knuckles jacket online and met two male teens to complete a sale. When one of the prospective buyers tried on the jacket, police allege the second buyer stabbed the victim and they both fled.
