WHL Roundup: Trent Miner stays hot with 33 saves, leads Giants over Cougars

KAMLOOPS, B.C. - Trent Miner kicked out 33-of-34 shots as the Vancouver Giants edged the Prince George Cougars 2-1 on Monday in Western Hockey League play.
Miner improved to 6-2-0 with a 1.18 goals-against average and .952 save percentage to go along with four shutouts in 2020-21.
Eric Florchuk opened the scoring while Adam Hall put home the winner at 11:30 of the third period to help the Giants (8-3-0) to a third straight victory.
Riley Heidt found the back of the net for the Cougars (4-5-2), who got 27 saves from Taylor Gauthier.

newly-minted Raiders captain was returned to the Raiders from the AHL’s Laval Rocket, AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens.

Earlier this year, Guhle was selected to represent Canada at the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship held in Edmonton. He and Canada took home a silver medal at the event.
