A Florida man is set to serve almost 10 years in prison after leading a forced labor and human trafficking operation that brought farm workers to Indiana and a few other states. The case highlights a pervasive issue.
Attorney General Daniel Cameron today announced that Robert L. Poole was sentenced in Boone Circuit Court for human trafficking charges. Poole pleaded guilty to two counts of Promoting Human Trafficking — commercial sex activity, which is a Class D felony. He was sentenced today to five years in prison, to be served concurrently with an existing sentence, and he was ordered to pay $10,000 to the Human Trafficking Victims Fund.
