AN INTERNATIONAL comedy performer is set to unwrap a Christmas box of surprises in her online comedy show organised by south Cumbria resident Harry Brunskill. Kate Smurthwaite- who has appeared on more than 2,000 TV and radio shows and written for Have I Got News For You, among many other programmes - will bring surprise special guests to her Christmas Spectacular at 7 pm on Friday, December 18th. The show will raise money for Furness Refugee Support in their work for families here and overseas. Organiser Harry Brunskill, a member of the group, said: In the five years or so since the picture of the toddler found dead on a beach in Greece went viral, we have probably sent more than £20,000 - no-one s kept count - and loads and loads and loads - same problem - of vans and lorries full of clothes and other donations to refugees overseas, as well as helping refugee families settle here in Furness.
