just about at the top of the hour, the end of another historic day and another historic first for donald trump. mere weeks after becoming the first former president charged on state felony offenses, hes now also the first to be charged with the federal kind, specifically 37 counts connected to retaining, mishandling, moving, concealing government documents, some of them highly classified. >> the indictment also details allegations of two occasions he shared highly sensitive material wi...

Theyre deflecting. the whataboutism and hypocrisy argument is a deflection because they cant even defend what the former president has done. >> and ill tell you, what you saw -- im just trying not to seeth about it because i expected so much better of him. hes not running. i dont know what hes running for. what you saw from him, though, again, its like that, like, hey guys to the concern group, im concerned too. to the base, its like, still with you. what you saw in the argument he made is what ...

Weve seen them behaving like thats actually the case. but the president is opening himself up to the claims of what poc yassy by a lot of conservatives who spent the last decade saying that deficits do matter and there was a debt crisis coming. they projected enough economic growth to somehow lift all boats, but its not going to escape that hypocrisy argument. and the lorther point about border security that has to be remembered is that this president was serious about getting money for the wall...

Now look, i think its worth saying that many republicans, and i would put paul ryan in this group, sincerely believe that lower taxes are better for the economy. and related to that, this gets to what were going to see next year, they want government to be smaller. so in terms of the issue of the deficit, you were talking with senator tester about the hypocrisy argument against republicans, they cared about the deficit under obama, not so much now. well, they care about government deficits when ...

Hypocrisy argument against republicans, they cared about the deficit under obama, not so much now. well, they care about government deficits when democrats are in power because they think democrats are for larger government. when theyre in power, if they can lower the amount of tax revenue, that makes it easier for them to cut programs. they dont support those programs. thats what were seeing. theyre going to try to do it next year. >> the deficit is a feature, not a bug in this case, thanks for...

Version of what the president does when at his arguable worst. it is a lie. it is a calculated lie. it is to deceive a group of the population that he hopes believes it. and it is a window into, well, what else will he do this about? thats why you call it out. does the tape really matter? no. it was voted on. sanders is right. people voted for trump anyway. regrettable to some, maybe. but thats the reality. if he will lie about something that is so clearly demonstrably false what else will he us...

I understand very much the hypocrisy argument and even agree. but the democrats now are just shocked and shocked by donald trumps comments should really look at their own nominee and their nominees actions through the years. however, two wrongs dont make it right. the republican party should stand for something. we were very strong against what bill clinton did in the 90s and what hillary clinton had done protecting him and tackiattacki some of these women. it is unacceptable. it is inexcusable....

Books. weve seen all that. obviously that ran a bit counter to her comments in the abc interview during her interview tour last year that she was flat broke after leaving the house white house. she got a lot of grief for that. they say theyre in the phase of the campaign where theyre not going to make any bones about the fact shes no longer middle class. shes wealthy. they see a difference between mitt romney. they say shes rich but shell push for policies that will help the middle class. romney...

Announced its support for a lawsuit brought against the security agency saying that collecting phone records could allow the registration of guns or gun owners. never mind that the very same nra secretly collected data on millions of americans in order to lobby against gun safety laws, as buzzfeed reported last month the gun lobby has built a massive secret data base of tens of millions of americans, including people who are not members of the nra, and uses that database to boost membership and ...

Steve, big deal? >> it is an interesting hypocrisy. for most people that havent been paying attention to the details of this, they think wait, what? the irs employees might not be required to be part of the exchanges? they should be. all federal government employees should be. theres a common sense element to the argument you hear that of course people that helped design the law, who are implementing, enforcing it, should be required to be part of it so they know whats happening. it is a basic h...
