Shepard Hurricane Florence is the news from the fox news deck today. Dont underestimate the storm. Thats the warning from federal and state officials this afternoon as Hurricane Florence closes in and the outer bands have begun lashing the carolinas. We want to take a look at the latest satellite images. The store is not yet ashore. Its right at 100 miles east southeast of Wrightsville Beach and wilmington. That is the spot where they believe it will come ashore sometime overnight. The Hurricane Force winds are already battering the coast from Wrightsville Beach and myrtle grove, topsail beach, atlantic city, moorehead city, all the way up to cape lookout. Winds are down to 130 Miles Per Hour. Thats just onemileperhour away from category 3 status, and the gusts are down to 160. I cant believe i even said that, down to 160. I mean thats still crazy. Its better than 200 Miles Per Hour. I mean few people who have ever walked this earth have gone through the hell that theyre going through in the bahamas in the last couple of days. The eye has been wobbling, don, five miles to the north, back to the south five miles, now to the west. Its about 100 miles just east of west palm. The other part of this good news is weve got a new track out here. Even though the warnings will remain in place and for good reason and the watch is up to georgia and the carolinas, when we look at the track now, the bulk of the kind of consensus here is the same. Keeping it offshore, still question marks when you get closer to north carolina, and well handle that in the next couple of days. Its still going to take a while to move up toward, say, off the coast of melbo

those injuries though are not considered serious. right now just about over the midlands of south carolina, this is where tropical storm elsa exists, 40-mile-per-hour winds, doesn t sound impressive. but still a lot of convection associated with it. and as a result, about 50 million people up and down the eastern seaboard looking at tropical storm warnings already. we go from thursday into thursday night and into friday. all the way from areas around inlet bay, inlet river between north carolina, south carolina, towards the outer banks, and then into the chesapeake bay. and then towards this morning city. and, yes, new york city could see some pretty heavy rainfall. maybe elsa will increase in intensity by then, some areas might see as much as 5 inches of rainfall, some localized flooding, maybe a heavy surf, there will be a rip current if you can imagine all the way up towards cape cod. this is where we re looking at the effects from elsa.
