The deftest of headers from Brazilian star Bobo has ended a Sydney Derby winning drought for Sydney FC that stretched back to December 2018 and in the process delivered a hammer blow to the finals chances of their fierce rivals, Western Sydney Wanderers in front of 17,121 fans at the SCG.
In a derby that lacked the fluidity of others in recent times, in no small part due to the patchy SCG pitch, Bobo was able to guide home his tenth goal of the season from close range with a superbly timed flick from a Milos Ninkovic cross in the 62nd minute.

Adelaide United edged closer to securing a finals berth after a narrow win over Melbourne Victory at AAMI Park on Sunday.
Adelaide is sitting third, three points behind second-placed Sydney which it hosts at home on Saturday night.
The 1-0 win courtesy of a Craig Goodwin goal didn’t tell the full story.
Adelaide completed a clean sweep, three wins over Victory in a season, for the first time since the A-League’s debut season in 2005/06.
Goodwin scored his seventh goal of the season after a brilliant combination with impressive midfielder Josh Cavallo.

Adelaide skipper Stefan Mauk scored a brace while impact substitute Kusini Yengi scored one goal and assisted another to deliver the Reds their fourth win on the bounce and dial up the pressure on Victory boss Grant Brebner.
Jake Brimmer's spectacular free kick got Victory off to the perfect start in the 28th minute, before the Reds hit back, then seized control at Marvel Stadium.
Brebner made four changes to the team thumped 6-0 by Melbourne City, while Adelaide goalkeeper James Delianov failed a late fitness test, opening the door for youngster Joe Gauci.
A lively Victory had three big chances to snare the lead in the space of six minutes - with Robbie Kruse scuppering two in the 12th and 16th minutes and Rudy Gestede heading another over the bar in the 17th.
