Conservatives on Facebook's Indefinite Suspension of Trump: 'Un-American,' 'Dangerous,' and Obscene Abuse of Power

Blog By Melanie Arter | May 5, 2021 | 1:56pm EDT President Donald Trump (Photo by NICHOLAS KAMM/AFP via Getty Images) Conservative groups condemned Facebook Oversight Board’s decision Wednesday to continue to block former President Donald Trump’s Facebook page and Instagram account as “un-American” and an “obscene” abuse of power, pointing out that if it treated liberals like Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) the same way, people would be outraged. As CNSNews.com reported, the Oversight Board said “it was not appropriate for Facebook to impose the indeterminate and standardless penalty of indefinite suspension of the former president’s account.  The board called on Facebook to review its decision “to determine and justify a proportionate response that is consistent with the rules that are applied to other users of its platform.” The review must take place “within six months of the date of this decision.”

News - Part 2 - Big Tech Curators of Content, Not Publishers

Heartland Institute experts James Taylor, President of  The Heartland Institute, and Cameron Sholty,  Heartland’s Director of Government Relations. James Taylor For Mr. Taylor, the most important thing for state legislators and the general public to understand because we have been told this myth over and over again is that Section 230 precludes states from passing legislation that would protect people s free speech rights on the Internet.  Said Taylor: “Yes, federal law preempts state where the two conflict, but Section 230 does not give tech giants (the tech cartels) the right to censor political free speech. This is something the tech giants (the tech cartels) have given a lot of money to a lot of people and a lot or organizations on both sides of the political aisle to lay claim to.”

Democrats Keep Getting Their Climate Change Doomsday Predictions Wrong

February 25, 2021 8:46 PM ET Font Size: For more than 50 years, members of the scientific community and environmental movement have made climate change predictions that ultimately turned out to be incorrect. Many of these predictions have been embraced by prominent Democrats over the years. President Joe Biden’s climate czar John Kerry is the latest Democrat to promote predictions of impending global disaster. He said during an appearance last week on “CBS This Morning” that the world only has nine years left to avert a climate catastrophe. Today, the U.S. officially rejoins the Paris Climate Accord. America is the second largest emitter behind China of greenhouse gases that are warming the planet.@BensTracy spoke exclusively with former Sec. of State @JohnKerry, who is now the Biden admin’s @ClimateEnvoy. pic.twitter.com/axnOvMOLp6

Brent Bozell, Conservative Leaders Petition State AGs to Investigate Big Tech

By CNSNews.com Staff Writer | February 23, 2021 | 12:43pm EST (Getty Images) (CNS News) Media Research Center President Brent Bozell, along with more than 40 conservative leaders, sent a letter to all the state attorneys general today urging them to investigate Twitter, Facebook, and Google/YouTube to determine if they have engaged in deceptive trade practices.  These Big Tech companies claim they are neutral platforms for the posting and sharing of information, but numerous instances of censorship suggest they are not neutral.  “The CEOs of Google, Facebook and Twitter have repeatedly alleged their platforms are neutral forums for political speech and that they support an equal exchange of ideas, said Brent Bozell in a statement.  The actions by these tech companies, however, prove those claims are patently false.
