The carmaker is yet to reach a conclusion on the feasibility of launching the Jimny in India
The Jimny was first showcased at Auto Expo 2020.
Currently, only the three-door version is being manufactured in India for export.
If sold in India, it will likely be offered as a five-door model.
It could be powered by Maruti’s 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine.
The Jimny, which Maruti Suzuki had previewed at Auto Expo 2020, is still not guaranteed to make it to the India market. After over a year of speculation, numerous spy shots, and even manufacturing taking place in India, the launch of the Jimny in our home market is doubtful, to say the least.
