FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) Authorities are investigating an alleged trespassing incident that led to a shooting on the outskirts of North Fargo Monday night.
Forty-one-year-old James Mayerhofer is in the Cass County Jail on charges of DUI involving drugs, DUI refusal and fleeing in a motor vehicle.
He was arrested around 10 o’clock Monday night after 58-year-old Joe Larson called law enforcement to report a suspicious person and vehicle on his property in the 1200 block of 49th Avenue North.

LITTLEFORK, Minn. Ross Murray remembers growing up in a small Minnesota town in the 1980s and ’90s where he was bullied and called “gay” before he was even fully comfortable identifying as gay.
“I was pretty scared to death to tell anyone,” says the Littlefork native. “It was not part of the culture then. ‘Gay’ was a slur.”

FARGO Authorities have identified two men involved in a trespassing incident that led to a shooting Monday night, May 10, in north Fargo.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office said it has arrested 41-year-old James J. Mayerhofer after being called around 10 p.m. to a home at 1212 49th Ave. N. A homeowner, 59-year-old Joseph Larson, requested help, claiming Mayerhofer would not leave the property, a news release said.
The two men did not know each other, according to law enforcement.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office says it arrested 41 year-old James J. Mayerhofer on multiple charges stemming from a disturbance call.
Shortly before 10:00 p.m, Cass County authorities, along with Fargo Police, responded to 1212 49th Avenue North for a reported trespass incident. Mayerhofer attempted to flee deputies upon their arrival and ultimately crashed his vehicle on the property.
The 41-year-old received medical treatment from an area hospital and was subsequently transported to the Cass County Jail and held on the charges of DUI, DUI refusal and Fleeing in Motor Vehicle.

“Today’s environment is so different, but life can still be difficult as an LGBTQ person. I want the church to be an ally,” he says, from his home in New York.
He points to St. Mark’s as just such a congregation.
“There are not a lot of accepting congregations,” says Rev. Joe Larson, pastor at St. Mark’s, a church that for 30 years has been Reconciling in Christ, meaning it is welcoming and affirming of all, regardless of gender expression, gender identity, and sexual orientation.
