A man was shot to death in a Richmond park Thursday night – the latest in a series of fatal shootings across the Lower Mainland in recent weeks.
Richmond RCMP Const. Kenneth Lau issued a news release about 11:30 p.m. saying Mounties responded to reports of shots fired about 8:30 p.m. in the park Moncton Street at No.1 Road.

“Police arrived on scene and located a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds,” he said. “The man was rushed to a local area hospital and has now succumbed to his injuries.”

A man and a woman have been charged for allegedly operating an illegal gambling house following an investigation by the Richmond RCMP’s organized crime unit.
Thi Dung Le, 29, has been charged with one count of keeping a gaming or betting house. She is set to make a first appearance in Richmond provincial court on Wednesday, according to online court records.

Jordan Jackson Guy, 28, has also been charged with one count of keeping a gaming or betting house. He is scheduled to appear in Richmond provincial court on Feb. 3.
Richmond RCMP seized gaming tables, chips and cash from a home on Finlayson Drive during the summer.

Richmond RCMP have laid charges against two people in relation to an illegal gambling house.(RCMP) comments
Two people have been charged in relation to an illegal gambling house that was raided in Richmond this past summer.
Richmond RCMP say Thi Dung Le and Jordan Jackson Guy are facing one count each of keeping a gaming or betting house.
A search warrant executed at a residence in the 10700-block of Finlayson Drive on July 2 resulted in the seizure of gaming tables, poker chips and cash, among other items.

VANCOUVER Richmond RCMP say that a teenager was the victim of a targeted shooting on Tuesday night. In a news statement, police say that around 10:30 p.m. on Dec. 29 they responded to a report of a person being shot near Jones Road and No. 3 Road. “Police arrived in the area and found the 19-year-old victim bleeding from what appeared to be a gun-shot injury,” reads the Richmond RCMP statement. The victim is expected to survive and recover from the injury, and has been released from hospital, say police. RCMP allege the shooting was targeted, but did not say whether they believe it’s gang related.
