Ditch near Old Town causing a stink

Created: July 06, 2021 03:41 PM ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- The picturesque Old Town Farm is a hidden jewel of Albuquerque's urban landscape. However, just off a trail, between I-40 and the Old Town Farm, is a ditch that is filled with trash. "Until enough people complain, nothing happens," said Lanny Toning, owner of Old Town Farm. "It's not on anybody's to-do list." Lanny Toning uses their property as a wedding venue, but when COVID shut down large events, they leaned on their Bike In Coffee business to continue bringing in revenue. "I hear from the bicyclists coming in - what is with all that garbage? What can I tell them? Somebody needs to clean it up," Toning said.

Woodruff Memorial Library starting up summer reading program

LA Junta Tribune At the Woodruff Memorial Library in La Junta, this year’s Summer Reading Program is open to all ages; not just the kids. “Last year when we had to go strictly online everything, we decided on a platform called READsquared,” said Kimberly Gallegos, programming and outreach coordinator for the Woodruff Memorial Library. “This is an online way to track books and reading time. The program actually made it doable for adults to be involved.” Participants in the library's Summer Reading Program will be divided into four age groups; a pre-kindergarten group for children aged 4 and younger, a kids group for kindergarten through sixth grade, a teen group for grades 7-12, and an adult group for readers 18 and older.

ALL YOU EVER WANTED TO KNOW ABOUT I-25 WORK: Gary E. Cordova has a few questions about needed improvements on Interstate 25. First, in Albuquerque: “When will the I-25 resurfacing in Albuquerque end, and how far will it extend?” Kimberly Gallegos, who handles information for the New Mexico Department of Transportation’s District 3 office, says, “The I-25 mill-and-fill project from Tramway to Jefferson (in) both directions will resume work the week of April 5-9 and wrap up on the week of April 25. This project was delayed because crews needed to meet temperature to proceed.” Second, around Algodones: “What is the purpose of the I-25 construction near Algodones, and when will it end?”

Montgomery/I-25 ramp closure; landscaping along Tramway

.......... .......... .......... .......... .......... .......... .......... .......... .......... .......... .......... .......... .......... .......... .......... .......... .......... .......... AN UNLUCKY CLOVERLEAF HIT: Charles recently asked in an email about the “on-ramp to Interstate 25 southbound from Montgomery westbound. This cloverleaf ramp has been barricaded shut for over a week. It’s got nothing to do with the Water Authority’s valve replacement project. New Mexico Department of Transportation District 3 has nothing posted on the website about this closure. … Pls advise.” And Elizabeth Bayne emails, “The southbound ramp from Montgomery/Montaño and I-25 has been closed for some time now. However, there does not appear to be anything else happening there. Is construction planned? When? Why? … Do you have any information?”
