Organised events include: People can sign up online and download sponsorship forms at: www.douglasdip.com Ramsey - 11am, registration at the Lifeboat House, South Promenade. The event is hosted by the RNLI and any money raised through sponsorship will benefit it and Bunscoill Rhumsaa. Peel - 12pm outside Peel Sailing and Cruising Club. Sponsor forms can be collected from Greens Jewellers at 37 Michael Street, to raise funds for Peel Lifeboat, Multiple Sclerosis and the Huntington’s Disease Association.

In December 2019, Tynwald agreed a strategy for the adoption of the 2006 EU Bathing Water Directive, having already agreed the previous 1976 directive was ’inadequate’. Following the decision local authorities were consulted before being invited to apply for their beaches to be designated. The government received eight applications, of which four were approved for the next bathing season which begins on May 1.

It was really overwhelming,’ says Bryony Kneale, secretary of the Young Farmers’ Federation. The event seems to get bigger and better every year and this year there was not only one run but two. The first, on Friday evening, saw 30 tractors setting off from King William’s College and taking a tour around the south of the island for the first time.
