Ice Cream Safari At Chattanooga Zoo Is June 12 Thursday, May 20, 2021
The Chattanooga Zoo announces Ice Cream Safari, 2021 on June 12 from 4-7 p.m. Come taste ice cream and sweet treats while your family enjoys a refreshing summer night at the Chattanooga Zoo, officials said.
Along with unlimited sweet treat tastings, this event will also include the opportunity to see some of the animals enjoying ice-treat enrichments. Keepers will create species-specific popsicles for the animals to try, so everyone can join in on the summer fun.
Tickets to the event will also include games and activities, as well as a take-home craft. Animal encounters will also be happening throughout the zoo, allowing families to experience wildlife up close and personal.
On May 4, Rotarian Jason Sherrill hosted Michelle Norwood, founder and owner of âA Little Something Extra Ice Cream.â Michelle explained how her vision of a mobile ice cream truck, created as a job opportunity for her son, Hunter, became a reality and blessing for him as he developed through life with Down Syndrome. Her company is now honored to train and employ many other amazing people with intellectual and physical exceptionalities. The ice cream truck is used to teach social skills, life skills and employment skills for âour amazing workers.â
