2021 Music Business Predictions & Trends [Nue Agency's Jesse Kirshbaum]

2021 Music Business Predictions & Trends [Nue Agency’s Jesse Kirshbaum] Nue Agency CEO Jesse Kirshbaum lives at the intersection of music, brands, and technology which makes him more qualified than most to spot emerging trends and predict their impact on the future. By It goes without saying that the music business started the year in a very different spot than it finished. After serious declines in recorded music for most of my career, the business was seeing unprecedented, double-digit growth going into 2020. The live business was booming and more artists were touring, resulting in higher ticket sales. The festival business was continuing to expand globally in interesting ways. Social media was allowing artists to make meaningful connections with their fans, creating easy access to their most dedicated consumers and big D2C merchandise sales. Brand partnerships were going gangbusters and more VC money was coming into the industry via such verticals as publishing and music tech.

McLaren unveils the Sabre, its most extreme non-hybrid yet

Photos / Supplied A few wealthy fans of McLaren over in America will be having a very nice Christmas this year, as the British brand has just revealed its latest supercar in limited numbers, and is a USA exclusive.  Dubbed the Sabre, this extreme-looking machine combines the looks of the Senna and Long Tail hypercars, to create a car that somehow manages to look better than both.  According to the British brand, the Sabre makes use of “ideas and innovations that global homologation would not permit.” No specifics were mentioned to back up these claims, but there are a couple of clues across the car.

Montana artist Ben Pease incorporates his Indigenous heritage, lifestyle, culture into beautiful works of art

Montana artist Ben Pease incorporates his Indigenous heritage, lifestyle, culture into beautiful works of art By: Mitch Lagge and last updated 2020-12-21 18:43:26-05 BILLINGS — Ben Pease is a self-described "Indigenous creative," who creates works of art in a wide variety of mediums. His work can be seen at the Chicago Field Museum and at the Stapleton Gallery in downtown Billings. “My work hearkens back to a time from before Montana, because our people are much older than the notion of Montana. I always say, ‘we’re from before here was here,'" Pease said Sunday in an interview with Q2 during December's Art Walk in Billings.

The Future of Work: 'ars longa' by Tade Thompson

On the Earth. The planet. Really? Wow. Quaint. What can you pay? That’s a lot less than I expected, but I’ll make it work. He is beautiful. I see him and I hear woodwind instruments. The symmetry of him, the curve of his neck … I must take some sketches, some studies. There’s an elegance, a grace to his every motion. He has that post-racial skin tone, but I can use it. How long will it take? For you? About 40 minutes. For me, years. I’m leasing your image for your entire life span. Extrapolation into the past, projections into the future.

Bringing Your Mainframe Into the Cloud Age

PHOTO: Alex Motoc Tried but true legacy systems can be like old friends. Sure, they may walk a little slower and need to rest more often, but they still have your back when you need them. So saying goodbye to them is always a tough choice. Nostalgia aside, it may also simply not make financial sense to rip and replace your legacy system. It can be costly — not only in terms of the expense of new systems, but the risk involved when the transition to new systems causes downtime or unhappy customers. Companies therefore need to carefully weigh the pros and cons when deciding whether to invest in legacy system modernization or to send it to the scrap heap.

The Future of Work: 'Beyond These Stars Other Tribulations of Love,' by Usman T. Malik

To revist this article, visit My Profile, then View saved stories. After his mother got dementia, Bari became forgetful. It was little things, like hanging up the wet laundry on time so it wouldn’t stink; spraying pesticide on their patch of sea wall against the adventures of crabs and mutant fish; checking the AQI meter before leading his mother out for her evening walk along New Karachi’s polluted shoreline. Was cognitive decline contagious? Bari wondered. Did something break in your brain, too, when you took care of people who once held you on their lap, helped you count the last straggling trees in the mohalla courtyard? Overwhelmed by their needs and your grief, perhaps you were split into two halves, each perpetually being run into the ground.

travel with fema staff back to his house, the inspector general at the department of homeland security had brock long tail. he was put under surveillance and they followed him back and forth between his headquarters in d.c. and his home. the inspector general has briefed top white house officials, and this was in just days ago as hurricane florence was barrelling toward the u.s., and ultimately john kelly was the one who said, we have to wait for this report, brock long has denied any wrong doing, there's no final report, and there's a major storm coming at north carolina and south carolina right now. so we will see how this plays out maybe once this storm passes. >> it is interesting because you say they had him under surveillance. he knew that it was illegal.
