05:20 AM EST Share Franchise owner Jessica Eilbeck and her partners will open Row House at 1561 San Marco Blvd. in May. A fitness concept focused on indoor rowing is coming this spring to San Marco. Row House, which has more than 300 licensed locations throughout the United States and Canada, will open in late May at 1561 San Marco Blvd., said franchise owner Jessica Eilbeck, also the managing partner. Hours likely will be 5:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. Eilbeck said her group intends to open three Row House studios in the area by spring 2022. In addition to San Marco, the partners are targeting Riverside and Atlantic Beach.

Retail notes: Permit in review for San Marco building interior demolition | Jax Daily Record | Jacksonville Daily Record

The city is reviewing a permit application for interior demolition at 1974 San Marco Blvd., which previously housed restaurants and bars. The estimated $35,500 project involves 4,662 square feet of interior space and 570 square feet of outside space on two floors. Sleiman Enterprises Chief Operating Officer Michael McNaughton said it was early landlord work “as we ramp up our marketing of the site.” Aldi solar The city issued a permit Feb. 10 for Aldi to install a rooftop photovoltaic solar system at its River City Marketplace store at 15324 Max Leggett Parkway in North Jacksonville at a cost of $101,600. It is the second of two Aldi stores to install a system.

Managing Director and CEO, JEA Jay Stowe, the new CEO of Jacksonville’s municipal water and electric utility since Nov. 30, inherited an organization cooperating in a federal grand jury probe and preparing a five-year, $2.5 billion capital investment plan.  His hiring ended a 1½-year period that saw an attempt to sell JEA to a private company, resulting in U.S. Department of Justice and City Council investigations and the firing of former CEO Aaron Zahn and his senior leadership team. Stowe plans to repair trust within JEA while moving on plans to invest $1.6 million to modernize its its water and wastewater system.
