The yield on the ten year in the last week is up about 15 basis points. Thats not even the peak. We were at 267, 268 early on. So were getting a swift market response to all of this strong jobs data today. The question is whether well close above 17,000 here, bill, and right now it looks like weve got a comfortable margin. Lets look across the markets. Dow is up. Session highs, 92 points. Again, only an hour to go until the close here. The nasdaq meanwhile, out performer this week up almost 2 . Its turning in a decent performance adding 23, another half percent. Finally the s p 500, at levels we have not seen for this index. Up almost 10 points. 1984, just 15 points away from 2000. Yearend edition of the closing bell. We are finishing the sixth year in a row of gains for the dow. By my math of the last six years, this year will only come in number five. It will rank the fifth best performance. The only one that was number six is 2011. The others outperformed what we did this year with the gain on the dow thereabouts. Here we are. The dow down 82 though. Just off the lows aft session. S p down 13 and the nasdaq is down half a percent today down 25 points. Situation. This is private industry that is out there. This is private industry drilling or fracking that helped that. There are some people saying that probably two months from now well see an even more supply that is coming online at that point well be filled up in terms of the storage we have and that excess capacity would go straight to the open market. Some people predicting that could put extreme pressure on prices. Did we roll over the contract . It was down at 42. Youre right. Thats a may contract. Expiring may 15. Thats down about 2. 5 percent. I like the idea. Were a cartel. Weve been, you know pillaging and plundering the world for 25 years but now were out of control. Will you other nonoutput guys come with us . Right now we are marginally positive by 4. 5 points on the Dow Jones Industrial average. The nasdaq continues to decline. It was the biggest percentage loser yesterday and its on pace for that same kind of record today. The s p is down. 2 of a percent. Amman javers has the latest on this marketmoving event. This is a possibly hopeful situation here on capitol hill. That has not seen a lot of hopeful situations in recent days. The news is that we had a bipartisan meeting of the top four leaders of the house of representatives just this morning, so thats nancy pelosi, steny hoyer on the democratic side with Speaker John Boehner and eric cantor, the republican leader.
