"The Beast" is back.  Exactly one year after The Basement East was ripped apart by the Tennessee tornadoes, East Nashville's premier music venue has announced it will reopen this week — for a "socially distanced bar hang," complete with live music. The celebration runs Thursday through Saturday, and the venue says it's taking advantage of nearly 7,000 square feet of space between the interior and the outside deck. "We have plenty of room to distance a bunch of mismatched tables and chairs loaned by friends (thank you Mercy Lounge, Nashville Urban Winery and Marathon Music Works) to provide much needed healing and camaraderie at this time. We are grateful to have the roof back on (and) the bar fired up."
