The government adopted on Thursday an emergency ordinance on the granting of state aid of 664.1 million lei to the Oltenia Energy Complex (CEO), for the purchase of emission certificates for last year, according to a release of the Ministry of Energy, sent to AGERPRES.
"We are moving ahead with the restructuring process of the CEO, and the amounts allocated today come to confirm that we are following the plan agreed with the European Commission. The CEO is an important pillar of the energy system in our country, but we also need to complete the restructuring plan in order to be able to produce clean energy," said the Energy minister, Virgil Popescu.

The salaries and bonuses of public workers will maintain throughout 2021 at the same level with the one granted for December 2020, the value of fine point will remain at 145 RON, and the holiday vouchers worth 1,450 RON will also be granted next year, but will only be issued in electronic format, according to a draft bill published on the website of the Ministry of Public Finance (MFP).
"Starting with January 1st 2021, the gross quantum of basic salaries / military pay / monthly allowances of the personnel, paid from public funds, will remain unchanged, to the same level of that of December 2020, as long as the personnel occupying the same position is carrying out their duties in the same conditions", the above-mentioned document says.

The Executive Bureau of the SANITAS Federation has taken note of the Romanian Government's intention to block for health and social assistance employees any possibility to benefit from the legal rights regarding the salary increase and demands the fulfillment of the promises, reads a release sent to Tuesday to AGERPRES.
"The Executive Bureau of the SANITAS Federation, convened in an extraordinary meeting today, December 29, 2020, analyzed the draft Emergency Ordinance on some fiscal-budgetary measures, in decisional transparency on the website of the Ministry of Public Finance. (...) The Executive Bureau has taken note of the obvious intention of the Romanian Government to block for health and social assistance employees any possibility to benefit from legal rights, given that these employees have been at the forefront of the pandemic fight for more than 10 months. They will continue the fight also in 2021, exposing themselves and their families to enormous risks that have already led to the death of over 70 employees", mentions the release posted on Facebook.
