Ontario is reporting 1,135 new cases of COVID-19 and 19 deaths on May 27.
The province detected 1,095 new cases on Wednesday, 1,039 cases on Tuesday and 1,446 on Monday. The seven-day rolling average is down to 1,441 cases.
Ontario completed 37,705 tests in the past 24 hours, marking a positivity rate of 3.6 per cent – the lowest rate the province has seen since March 19.
The province administered 143,748 doses of the vaccine over the past day, bringing the provincial total to 8,530,698 doses administered and 594,854 people who are fully vaccinated.
The District of Muskoka plans to improve the region’s internet.
Muskoka’s Regional Broadband Strategy will gather information on less connected areas and plan infrastructure projects to address them. The project is run by the Muskoka Economic Recovery Task Force’s Broadband Sub-committee, which plans to hire a consultant for the project by June 18.
“The goal is to do everything possible to ensure that affordable and reliable internet services are available across the region, so that residents and businesses can fully participate and stay competitive in an ever growing digital world,” says John Klinck, District Chair and member of the sub-committee.

Ontario is reporting 2,199 new cases of COVID-19 and 30 deaths on May 16.
The province detected 2,584 new cases on Saturday, 2,362 on Friday and 2,759 on Thursday. Ontario has a seven-day rolling average of 2,430, down from 3,120 last Sunday.
“Locally, there are 633 new cases in Toronto, 547 in Peel, 172 in York Region, 143 in Durham and 129 in Hamilton,” Health Minister Christine Elliott said on Twitter.
However, the province only completed 33,142 tests in the past 24 hours, marking a 6.8 per cent positivity rate according to Public Health Ontario. The positivity rate last Sunday was 7.1 per cent.
