St. Charles resident Yaroslava Dunn will be bringing her father to the U.S. next week. Her father, who fled Ukraine, got his visitor visa Friday in Warsaw.
Yaroslava Dunn and her sister left their homes in Illinois and Wisconsin and traveled for Poland to get their parents out of Kyiv, Ukraine. They didn t have a plan or know how they were going to connect with their parents, but nine days after leaving on March 5, the two women were reunited with their parents in Warsaw.
As Russian troops and bombs descended on Ukraine, the daughter frantically booked a flight from Chicago to Warsaw to help her parents fleeing their home in Kyiv.
