Mr Yaw Osafo-Maafo is now a Senior Presidential Advisor to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
Mr Osafo-Maafo who served as a Senior Minister in President Akufo-Addo s first tenure but retired and chose to remain in the background in the second term disclosed his new role on Tuesday, April 13, 2021.
He was addressing the Birim Central Municipal Assembly at Akyem Oda in the Eastern Region on Tuesday, when he made the disclosure, reports Graphic Online s Samuel Kyei-Boateng.
Mr Osafo-Maafo said President Akufo-Addo made the appointment last week.
The experienced politician served as a Member of Parliament for Akyem Oda for three terms from 1997 to 2009.

Osafo-Maafo is considered as one of the heaviest political brainboxes around and his contributions to the Akufo-Addo government from 2017-2020, was immense although not sufficiently celebrated.
The Senior Minister role
The Senior Minister’s role was first introduced into the Ghanaian body politic by President John Agyekum Kufuor in 2001. He subsequently appointed J. H. Mensah, as his Senior Minister.
