State Street Global Advisors Launches an Emerging Markets ETF, 'EMHC'

SPDR Bloomberg Barclays Emerging Markets USD Bond ETF (EMHC). The fund was developed to provide exposure to US dollar-denominated debt issued by sovereign and quasi-sovereign emerging market issuers. EMHC may provide investors with an attractive source of income and diversification benefits due to emerging markets debt’s low historical correlation to other global bond sectors. “With yields relatively low across US bond markets, investors are increasingly looking elsewhere to generate income,” said Sue Thompson, head of SPDR Americas Distribution at State Street Global Advisors. “Emerging market debt has seen solid growth over the last decade. However, we believe many investors may be under-allocated to this asset class. EMHC provides a convenient and cost-effective means to access emerging market debt while guarding against short-term fluctuations in the dollar.”

SSGA Digs Into First Fixed Income ESG Fund, 'RBND'

December 15, 2020 On Tuesday, NYSE spoke with Noel Archard, CFA, Global Head of SPDR Product at State Street SPDR ETFs, about the With continued use of ESG investments by investors, who are attempting to mitigate risks, deliver long-term, sustainable returns, or express values for preferences through their portfolio choices, there have been frequent requests from SSGA’s clients concerning more choices in the fixed income ESG space, much like how the early products focused on equity themes. “This core fixed-income building block will help finance and incorporate ESG into their bond portfolios,” Archard explains. He continues, “The goal of the fund is to help create a diversified, investment-grade corporate fixed-income ESG exposure while looking to match the risk and return characteristics of the parent non-ESG corporate fixed-income benchmark. RBND represents a best-in-class ESG approach that can be used as an alternative for traditional core fixed-income exposures.
