In an unusual case, hundreds of dead birds fell from the sky in northwestern Spain, prompting officials to initiate a probe to determine what caused it.
A CHARITY director whose 4x4 broke down while he was transporting a dozen rare birds' eggs has thanked the company which came to his rescue. David Waters, director of the Salisbury Plain-based Great Bustard Group was returning from Spain with the eggs which are part of a conservation project, when he broke down in Folkstone, Kent. He said: "I had driven up through the middle of Spain with the eggs and my three working dogs and the breakdown occurred as I was coming out of the tunnel. “The eggs were wrapped up with coats and jackets as of course I couldn’t have the engine running during the crossing. They are okay for a little while but needed incubation once we reached the other side."
