Odisha CM appoints retired IAS officer Upendra Tripathy as Advisor of Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan ANI | Updated: Aug 03, 2021 04:37 IST Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], August 3 (ANI): Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik appointed Upendra Tripathy as advisor cum working president and chairman of the executive committee of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVS) with the status and rank of Minister of State. Besides this, he will also discharge the duties as Principal Advisor (Education) to Chief Minister, said an official statement from the state government. Tripathy, IAS (Retd.) officer of Karnataka cadre 1980 batch, brings in both global and local experience and expertise from across the world into the Adarsha School Sangathana in Odisha, the government said.

Venkaiah Naidu urges youth to fight against gender discrimination He suggested that the Utkal university should take up research on issues faced by tribals and actively contribute to policy formation for their well-being Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu on Saturday urged the younger generation to pledge to fight against gender discrimination. “Our youth should be at the forefront of fighting all social evils like casteism, communalism, corruption, and violence,” Naidu said while addressing the students at the 50th convocation ceremony of Utkal University, the premier educational institute of the state. Naidu suggested that the university should take up research on issues faced by tribals and actively contribute to policy formation for their development and well-being. He said disaster management should be made an integral part of education to prepare us better for calamities.
