Finishing high school five years ago marked the beginning of a difficult transition period for Alec Lesmond. âYouâre trying to decide where to go next, youâve had this community, and now youâre being thrown into the open world and it feels like the rest of your life depends on the decision you make,â he said.
He imagines it will be even more challenging for the Class of 2020, who are entering their adult lives without the same level of social interaction or certainty as the students before them. Itâs why Mr Lesmond has chosen to take on a facilitator role with a new Year 13 support program, run by the Banksia Project, to help year 12 students with their post-school adjustment.
