Mayo Clinic is remodeling corridor | Jax Daily Record | Jacksonville Daily Record

Mayo Clinic is remodeling the main north-south corridor at its Southside campus at a cost of $1.9 million. The city issued a permit April 15 for Batson-Cook Co. to upgrade the first-floor corridor at the 4500 San Pablo Road S. campus. “We will be modifying the finishes on Mayo’s 1st floor main North/South corridor for patients and visitors to match the new Mayo Atrium that just opened,” Mayo spokesman Kevin Punsky said by email March 10. That includes walls, floors, the ceiling and lighting. The north corridor construction will be completed in the summer, said Punksy, interim director of media relations. When that is completed, work moves to the south corridor for completion in October.

Jacksonville roadwork paid by 2014 gas tax extension to be done by 2024

As Jacksonville eyes doubling its gas tax, residents are still waiting to see construction completed on major road work promised when City Council extended that same gas tax in 2014. Most of the work on that list has either been done or is under way, but the Jacksonville Transportation Authority expects it will be 2024 before all the construction wraps up by closing out the final project in the northern end of San Pablo Road. The original scope called for about $100 million of work but those estimates proved to be outdated and the tab has risen to around $167 million, which includes $13 million of JEA utility work added in to the projects.
