Executive branch to reoccupy offices after $800,000 fix completed

KOROR, Palau (Island Times, Oct. 18, 2013) – Beginning Monday, Palau’s Executive Branch offices will move back to the Capitol in Ngerulmud.
President Remengesau disclosed during the press conference Wednesday at Palau Wave radio station that the problems at the Capitol building, including ceiling leak, molds, air-con system, were fixed.
Remengesau said that the Industrial Hygienist gave clearance that the building is now ready to be occupied by employees.
Earlier reports showed occupants at the Capitol were relocated in offices in Koror due to severe mold infestation.

KOROR, Palau (Island Times, June 7, 2012) – Members of the United States Congress have asked the Obama Administration to hasten anew the congressional approval of the Compact Review agreement between Palau and the United States.
It is almost two years since the Agreement was signed and the Compact is still pending before the U.S.
Congress said that the delay is causing some leaders of Palau to question the Agreement and the commitment of the U.S. to a friend that is vital to US security and international position.
