Thank god for that. Five month old lauren happily in her daddy s arms, she and her twin brother luan, blissfully unaware of the chaos this morning. Visibility was quite poor. Sera a fire that started in the basement of this medford home created thick smoke throughout. A mother and her twin babies were in the secondfloor apartment. Officer Paul Giordano one of the first to arrive. I ran upstairs to the second floor, a female handed me two infants, there was smoke coming from the upstairs apartment. I ran downstairs. He came down the stairs and had both infants. One and one arm and one in the other, mother and twins were checked out by emt s on scene, the babies father who rushed home from work, thankful to the officer who helped get them out, a happy ending for this family. Right before these little ones celebrated first christmas. They were able to get some belongings out of their apartment. It is unclear if or when they will be able to return.
