Acting Nairobi Governor Ann Kananu said the death has robbed the county and country at large of a gentle soul who was always jovial and never harbored ill feelings towards anyone.
Kananu added that the deceased politician served Nairobi County during his time as Speaker with a lot of dedication, diligence, kindness, wisdom, and humility.
“I am deeply saddened by the sudden death of Magelo. Death has robbed us of a wonderful father figure, a humorous and gentle soul, who was always jovial and never harboured any ill-feelings towards anyone,” she said.
“On behalf of the people of Nairobi county and on my own behalf, I want to convey my deepest and heartfelt sympathies and heartfelt condolences to the family, and friends,” she added.

Nairobi County Assembly leadership has indicated that it will rally its members to pass the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) bill.
Led by Deputy Majority Whip Waithera Chege, the ward reps maintained that their decision has not been influenced by President Uhuru’s pledge to offer them car grants.
“We have resolved to pass BBI with or without car grants for we believe it has many benefits for devolution. Likewise, I am asking my counterparts countrywide not to vote for the bill because of the car grant but for the benefits it has for the future generation,” said Chege.

The Nairobi County Assembly leadership has resolved to pass the referendum Bill.
The MCAs, led by Deputy Majority Whip Waithera Chege, yesterday called on their counterparts in other parts of the country to pass the Bill for the benefit of Kenyans and not merely because of the car grant pledge by President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The assembly resumes plenary on February 9, after more than two months in recess. The BBI Bill is expected to top agenda of the House.

NMS Director-General Mohammed Badi
NAIROBI, KENYA: The Nairobi Metropolitan Services has announced plans to reduce the number of car wash business in Nairobi County.
Director-General Mohammed Badi on Tuesday raised the alarm over the proliferation of the car wash business which he termed as fast-expanding and unregulated and which has now found its way to posh areas like Muthaiga, Karen, Lavington, and other areas that “they should not be.”
"Car wash businesses are too many and have made their way to high-end areas, which should not be the case. Most of these were licensed by MCAs. It is something political; a kind of payment to boys who probably voted for them,” said Badi during an interview with Spice FM radio station.
