money case, where georgia is coming up soon, january 6th is also coming up, there is a range and a scope here that is truly unprecedented. you know, what i keep thinking about all evening, dana, is that this did not have to happen this way. this case, the fact that we are at this point as a country, the fact that the former president is now facing these charges, is 100% a self-inflicted wound by him and by his team around him. there are other cases that we can look to in the national security space and mishandling of classified information, including the more recent cases of former vice president pence, where individuals make mistakes, they mishandle information, then they work with the government to fix it. and in some cases, it can mean that there s never a case that s actually brought, a criminal case that s ever brought, like the pence example, where it was
the pence example raises that. since you re here, you might be in your office going, there they go again. now you re here. so i m going to play some of this of your former boss, attorney general garland. let s take a look. i think the department of justice can do both of these investigations with the men and women who have worked there for years, and with integrity. i disagree pretty strongly with the decision by attorney general garland to seek a special counsel. i don t think it s needed under the regulations, and i think it risks delaying this investigation needlessly. i have an idea, merrick garland should appoint a special prosecutor to become the attorney general of the united states. because apparently he can t do the job. that s not me saying it, that is merrick garland saying it. you get the benefit of responding. so thank you for the opportunity to do that. these are extraordinary circumstances, and extraordinary times. and i think what we saw merrick
