Ho Chi Minh City’s Transport Department has proposed to ban rudimentary transport vehicles in two phases by 2025.

The Department has submitted to the HCM City People’s Committee a plan to regulate traffic flows of motorized 3 wheeled and homemade 3-4 wheeled vehicles before totally banning them after 2025.
By 2022, all rudimentary vehicles will be banned in the city center within the boundaries of streets Hai Ba Trung – Ton Duc Thang – Ham Nghi – Pham Ngu Lao – Nguyen Thi Nghia – Cach Mang Thang Tam – Dien Bien Phu – Hai Ba Trung.

Hanoi reports case of COVID-19 relapse
A patient has tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 again after being given the all-clear, the Hanoi Centre of Disease Control (CDC Hanoi) said on February 25.
The 48-year-old patient, who resides in Dich Vong ward in Cau Giay district, has been taken to the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases for further quarantine and treatment.
The case does not pose any risk of community transmission, Deputy Director of CDC Hanoi Khong Minh Tuan said.
Hanoi had reported 36 COVID-19 cases between January 27 and 12pm on February 25, according to the municipal Department of Health.

The project will also cover installation of smart lighting and surveillance systems along the banks of the Huong (Perfume) River and building public administration capacity in tourism development and urban management.

Ho Chi Minh City People’s Council has cancelled 61 projects which have failed to be implemented on schedule, with developers showing their incapability to move things forward.

The projects were approved for transfer from land for growing rice to urban development land between 2015 and 2017, but remain long-delayed due to various reasons.
Two prominent projects are in the city’s central business districts. One located on the triangle of Tran Hung Dao, Nguyen Thai Hoc, and Pham Ngu Lao streets was in 2007 assigned to a joint venture between Thai Son Construction Company, Chi Thanh Investment, Anh Duong Finance and Investment, BIDV, and South Korean investors of Hanwha Engineering and Construction, Hanshin Engineering and Construction, and Hanwha Galleria.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Transport said on Friday afternoon that the municipal People’s Committee had given an in-principle approval for piloting a public bicycle-sharing system, named Mobike, in some areas across the city for 12 months.
The bicycle-sharing system, invested and operated by Tri Nam Group JSC, is meant to expand the network of public transport connections and thus, limit private vehicles in the inner-city areas in the coming time.
Forty-three bike docks will be established on many downtown streets, including Ham Nghi, Nguyen Hue, Vo Van Kiet, Nam Ky Khoi Nghia, Pham Hong Thai, Nguyen Thi Nghia, Pham Ngu Lao, Nguyen Thi Minh Khai, Le Duan, Ton Duc Thang, and Le Thanh Ton.
